The song was written during a long, brutal winter in my hometown of Buffalo, NY. There is a sense of desperation that comes with driving late at night around broken, snow-covered streets lined with long abandoned buildings, and the intention of the song – if there is one – is to capture that desperation but also the nameless, formless sense of hope that allows you to keep driving forward not only through the season but through personal trials as well.
