Para não falar nas linhas de guitarra pujantes e viciantes! “Better With You”, tema com o qual passei a conhecê-los, levou-me a recuar quase uma década quando o meu amor pelo rock era algo tão visceral e genuíno que me perdia completamente nos concertos a que ia, suando e vivendo tudo ao máximo. Este trio sul-africano chegou, espero eu, para ficar. Qualidade não lhes falta e espero que possam passar por Portugal brevemente. Não deixariam nenhum grande palco, mesmo de festivais, envergonhado.

South African alternative rockers Caelo have announced the release of a new single, Better With You. The song is a sonic lure, enticing head-bobbing and foot-tapping, leading you through a dynamic range of riffs and hooks and leaves you right where Caelo want you – in their pocket.
In early March the trio will play their first shows of 2019 after a year long hiatus while frontman, Joel, recovered from injury after dodging the proverbial bullet. Better With You was written against all conventional methods as drummer, Mike Dickens, wrote an entire drum track and persuaded the other two to write their parts to fit exactly to scale. After an inordinate amount of internal resistance, and a looming recording date, the song was pieced together; ultimately progressing and challenging the members of the band.
The trio’s flair for dynamic range means their alt-rock comes glazed in a spectrum of unique elements to enthral the ear from start to finish and conveys a collection of ideas that showcase the strengths and differences of the band.
With an inordinate thirst for prolificacy, and a series of exciting shows ahead, the group looks forward to new prospects for the future.
